Name: Gustavo Mirabile
Nationality: Brazilian
Date of Birth: 07.07.75
Place of Birth: Sao Paulo, Brazil
Gus is the antithesis of Vlad‘s reserved, curt style. He’s gregarious, warm and funny. Although his laid-back, phlegmatic style can grate on Vlad‘s nerves, the fact that Gus is pretty unflappable is a source of comfort for Vlad. Gus often sees the wider picture, but sometimes his rather chaotic approach to routine tasks means that he’s always worried that he’s forgotten to do something or call someone. His obsession with understanding of how online visitors experience websites make him a great addition to this fledging agency.
Gus’s Story
Gus, short for Gustavo, joined The Website Detective Agency 4 months ago. Vlad had been struggling to find an experienced web analyst in Amsterdam, and had decided to take on a trainee who he would train up over time. Gus, 34, comes from Sao Paulo in Brazil. Gus had been working in online PR for some time, both in London and Amsterdam before being introduced to Vlad at an e-commerce exhibition in The Hague.
Gus holds a degree in Psychology and has completed a few courses in Marketing before moving to London to join his brother. His brother, Matheus, got him an admin job at a online marketing agency, where as his grasp of English improved and his interest in website marketing increased he developed great skill at writing great articles for the agency’s clients, that were both easy to read and good for website’s rankings with the search engines.
Gus, whilst not a natural numbers person, has a real insight into what makes a website not just useable but how to use the website to ‘persuade’ visitors to take action. He’s agreat talker and an even better listener – clients just seem to ‘like’ him. This rather annoys Vlad, but they get along fine.
Gus, just like Vlad, came to Amsterdam for a woman. Unfortunately, he broke up with his girlfriend within the first week of arriving in Amsterdam. Gus, although he complains of being a bit chubby, exudes charm and has quickly created a large circle of friends. A number of his female friends are more than friends, but Gus is not one to get too serious about just one person.
