The Applied Web Analytics team
The company was founded by Dan Croxen-John, a web analytics expert with over ten years experience at the sharp end of e-commerce and direct marketing. He has helped to improve the online and offline marketing of organisations such as Arthritis Research Campaign, Chelsea FC, Eurosport, Great Little Trading Company, Psion, Rolawn Direct and Unilever.
Dan brings a highly practical and realistic approach to consultancy as he was Managing Director of Bradshaws Direct from 2005-2007, so he knows first hand the realities of running a multi-channel business.
Dan is an ECMOD Awards judge, a former member of the Catalogue Exchange Advisory Board and a regular contributor to Catalogue and E-business, as well as being a member of the Institute of Direct Marketing and the Web Analytics Association.

The AWA team includes specialists in three key areas:
- Web design: Sian Brooks of Spyre is a talented and experienced designer, who quickly understands how layout, design and imagery interact to create persuasive and engaging Web pages. She specialises in creating multiple designs to the same brief, which is ideal for split-testing web pages.
- Web copywriting: Mel Henson specialises in online and offline copy for mail order companies, and wrote the ECMOD award winning Muddy Puddles catalogue and website. She uses classic direct marketing principles, including the AIDA formula (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) to write compelling, search-engine optimised copy.
- Web development: Semlyen IT Consultants provide us with development support for a number of our clients. They are specialists in all forms of Web technologies and always work to time and budget constraints, whilst still being great at communicating technical concepts in straightforward terms.
